A belated announcement for Spotty 2.4.x:
Please note that the second change is currently optional, as it does improve the situation for some cases, while it seemed to be more sensitive to other timing related hiccups in most of my test cases. If you see your Spotify app controlling a Spotty device a track or more ahead, then give this option a try. Otherwise better leave it alone :-).
This workaround is in response to issues reported by users of eg. the Innuos devices, which run Squeezelite with a very large buffer, keeping full tracks in there.
- adding improved support for synced players: expose the sync group rather than individual players
- add workaround for Connect on players with large buffers: if the player was able to buffer a full track or more, the could have been a huge gap between what the Spotify app would show as currently playing and what was actually playing.
