Squeezelite Keyboard shortcuts not working

Normally I use PCP on my software players but as i want Material skin and squeezelite on the same box I figured I'd build on Raspbian Buster from scratch

All is working fine with one notable exception, when i plug a keyboard in the only shortcut that works is the space bar for pause.



Is there anything obvious I should be looking at when troubleshooting?
