BBC Radio, iPlayer & Tunein display differences

I tuned today to BBC 4 via Tunein - all the station and programme info is displayed on the Now Playing screen, including a specific programme graphic. BBC Radio and iPlayer only show the station name.

I'm aware that there have been changes to how the BBC provides stream data ... so I'm confused why Tunein gets all the data but the plugins don't.
