How to kill stream when exiting Squeeze Ctrl

$

I'm using a Rpi3 and Allo Boss combo with Picoreplayer and LMS installed, sounds lovely and it runs pretty much fault free except for one issue (which is probably user error), I'm using Squeeze Ctrl for the interface however I cannot find a way to kill the stream when I'm done listening except for clearing the playlist which doesn't seem like a very elegant way to exit, I was hoping for a setting that would stop the stream when I exit the app but I can't find anything that would do that, I've been sort of ignoring the problem for a while now but after a party last Friday turned everything off and all seemed well until I fired it up Monday afternoon only to find it had been streaming all weekend so I really need to sort the issue out even if it means changing the app (which I really don't want to do).
Would be grateful if someone could advise on this....

Music Source PlugIn?

On the Home Panel of my LMS Web GUI I see "Music Source", which says it enables streaming from my PC to an LMS Player. I've never noticed it before, but maybe it's been there for ages. Clicking on it identifies my PC by name (+ MySB.com) and attempts to connect to an IP. But nothing then happens, except that whatever was previously playing in LMS stops. My PC continues to play through its own speakers.

Clicking on the MySB.com in Music Source just opens up my usual MySB.com web page.

I don't see any entry for "Music Source" in Settings>PlugIns.

Am I missing something? In any case, is there a way of feeding whatever is playing on my PC through to LMS and a desired player? It would - occasionally - be a useful feature.

Question on Chromecast Bridge Pluggin for PiCorePlayer

I read over the Chromecast Bridge Thread and understand that you cannot Sync the Chromecast with other Squeezelite Players.
However the following thread by the author is a bit confusing to me;

"It should provide pretty much all the features of squeezelite, except synchronization (all you can have is a 2-sec accurate sync start). ChromeCast group of players appear as another LMS player, so it gives synchronization within a CC group"

I was wondering how to implement the "All you can have is a 2-Sec Accurate sync start" -- and what this actually does?

Yes.

There's an on-device menu to select the account.

As the message says you don't need (can't install) this addition to the
Spotty plugin. That's not Spotty itself. Don't you have a Spotty item in
the advanced settings?

I believe it's more a problem in the Rust based librespot library or my
spotty helper code based on it. I'm working on getting the latest
librespot code integrated, hoping to improve the situation. But Rust
isn't where I feel at home...

I hooked a Raspberry Pi HDMI output to my TV and I can hear music, and I see the Bootloader messages, but cannot see any Album Covers. Is it possible to view Album Covers and Track info via the HDMI port into a TV with PiCorePlayer?

If So, what settings do I need to accomplish this?

That's by design - but the wording probably a bit outdated with LMS8:
The idea here is not to mix in "unknown" stuff from music services, but
only use your "own" music. Previously this used to be your local music.
With LMS8 this can include tracks from online services, if they're
integrated into your library.

Pipe Squeezelite to Icecast

Can anyone help?
I’m looking for a way of piping Squeezelite output to an Icecast server.
I can do it by using a player’s audio output into the input of the Icecast server via Liquidsoap but I’m looking for a method of doing it without going analogue at any stage.
I can do it using Squeezelite and an encoder on a Windows PC so there must be a way in Linux (Centos 8) preferably not using any gui. Anyone?

Installing Daphile on an external USB drive

$

Greetings.

I've been researching Daphile for a while now, and I believe it's exactly what I've been looking for.

I've done some test installations and it's performed incredibly well, with one exception - I cannot start up to the desired drive without using the install media attached, and restarting.

Here's the setup:

The server: 32-bit Dell Inspiron Mini 9 (also called the Inspiron 910), Diamondville Intel Atom N270 (1.6 GHz/533Mhz FSB/512K cache), 2 GB of RAM. Unit is set to USB BIOS Legacy Support from the firmware, so it may boot from USB. Also, the Dell's internal 16 GB PATA SSD has been disabled in Firmware so the Dell will not boot from it nor should it recognize it during startup. This 16 GB PATA SSD has a functional installation of LXLE on it - https://www.lxle.net/ .

External USB drive - Western Digital , 1TB.

I used the 32-bit x86 daphile-20.08-i486.iso to create an installer/bootable USB keychain drive, using UNetbootin. Creation of said USB keychain drive worked flawlessly, as did startup to it and running Daphile, also using the provided setup option to "clear disk drive for installation" - the Western Digital 1TB.

So, I then followed the instructions in the guide: https://www.daphile.com/download/Dap...stallation.pdf - "6 Final target installation of Daphile."

After this completed, I successfully restarted to the external Western Digital USB 1TB drive, and it has functioned.

However, if I shut down the Dell and then reboot, I get a variety of error messages:

1.

Read Error

2.

error: failure reading sector 0x802 from 'hd0'
entering rescue mode...
grub rescue> ls

grub rescue> ls -l
error: failure reading sector 0x802 from 'hd0'
grub rescue> set
cmdpath=(hd0)
prefix=(hd0, msdos1)/grub
root=hd0, msdos1
grub rescue>

3.

Rebooting might get me to an actual GNU GRUB menu (version 2.04), where I have the option to select and start from *Daphile SW-version fw2008040757.

Pressing enter to boot to this selection, and I will get one of the following error messages:

Failure reading sector 0x450c0 from 'hd0'
error: no such partition
error: you need to load the kernel first

Press any key to continue...

error: failure reading sector 0x802 from 'hd0'
error: no such partition
error: you need to load the kernel first

Press any key to continue...

error: no such partition
error: no such partition
error: you need to load the kernel first

Press any key to continue...

Which brings me back to the grub menu, where I can select "c" for the command line, and then get a proper grub prompt, where I can now enter in the following:

grub> menuentry "Daphile" {insmod chaininsmod ext2set root=(hd0,msdos1) # 2nd HDD, 3rd partitionchainloader +1}

[ after discovery using the previous set command - ls didn't work - (hd0,msdos1) substituting (hd1,3) from " 9.1 BIOS boot loaders" found at https://www.daphile.com/download/Dap...stallation.pdf ]

Even after following these instructions, I still get the errors listed above.

However, if I insert the installer USB keychain drive, start up to Daphile from that, remove the keychain drive when prompted, on another computer navigate through a web browser to Settings>Restart System, it restarts to the external drive and everything works as desired - The Dell Mini starts up and runs from the attached external USB drive, and all of the music loaded onto this external drive is available to serve up to the rest of the various players throughout the house, as well as playing back from the Mini.

That said, if I insert the installer USB keychain drive, start up to Daphile from that, remove the keychain drive when prompted, on another computer navigate through a web browser to Shutdown and select either Restart or Shutdown, and the computer either restarts or I manually restart it, I get one of the above errors, or perhaps something like this:

Operating System not found

From https://www.daphile.com/download/Dap...stallation.pdf : "9 Multiboot configuration. Daphile installation tool does not support multiboot configurations. However with a little expertize and manual work it's possible to install and configure also Daphile to work on multiple operating system setup."

Ultimately, what I'm wanting to do with this is run Daphile using this Dell Mini 9, where Daphile is installed on an external hard drive - along with all of the music - and the computer automatically boots from the external.

For a variety of reasons, installing onto the internal drive isn't an option. There is no plan for making this a multiboot system; Daphile is simply going to be installed upon and run from an external USB drive.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated. I'd love to get this up and running as described.

Thanks in advance!

DAC keeps detecting audio signal from RPi USB input inspite of not playing any track

I have connected RPi + piCorePlayer (LMS + Squeezelite) ---- USB ----> Topping E30 DAC setup. The DAC has USB/Coax/Toslink inputs; it goes to sleep when there is no signal on Coax or Toslink inputs. Where as it does not do so in case of USB. Even when I don't play any track, it keeps showing the previous freq of 48.0kHz, it looks like the USB input does not go idle. Please let me know the role of piCorePlayer or Squeezelite in this so that I can fix the same.

PiCorePlayer - States W'ifi IP: is missing - [Reboot] or [Save] to connect.' --------

I have been connecting to an Access Point Router in my House with a Raspberry Pi Wireless for about 6 years now. It has been flawless. Today, I reset the router to factory settings (Due to an unrelated problem). When I re-configured the router to my original settings, I used the same SSID and Password for both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Bands. Upon rebooting my network, all of my Wireless devices connected to the Re-Set Router with no Problems, except for the aforementioned Raspberry Pi. It will connect and play just fine to another Access Point Router on my Network. When I try to Connect to Router in PiCorePlayer, I enter the SSID and Password and I don't get any error message, but at the IP Address line it just states "Wifi IP: is missing - [Reboot] or [Save] to connect." - I currently have it playing on a much weaker Access Point located in a more distant Room.

This is somewhat coincidental as I have been helping a Raspberry Pi/PiCorePlayer newbie over the phone and we also cannot connect to his Router Wireless. He is getting the same message. And of course his other devices Laptop, Tablet, Phone etc have no problems.

I do have the latest and greatest PiCorePlayer and LMS Server installed. --- It just seems like it is memorizing something from my router before I did a Factory Reset... I have a half dozen other devices that I did not have to touch after I configured the router.

Any Ideas?

LMS-to-UPnP with PlayFI devices

$

Hi! has anyone got any luck connecting a PlayFi device with the UPNP bridge? DTS recently enabled DigitalMediaRenderer with version 5.2. I've been able to send audio to the speaker directly with SofaPlay on my mac, or Send to speaker with windows.

Quote:

There is also technically a bonus feature in this update that we're not avertising officially. If you've gotten this far, then you probably would like to try it out. This feature is known as DMR. This means that you'll be able to use a DLNA Media Client or Player or stream directly to any product with DTS Play-Fi, without first needing the app. For example, you'll be able to open BubbleUPnP, and tell it to render to your DTS Play-Fi product on the network, and your media server will play audio straight to your audio system, no app middle-man inbetween.

Why is this unadvertised? Right now we've not optimized this extra protocol for Ultra High Resolution files (though 24 bit / 48 kHz should play just fine), so we can't wholly recommend it for those with many files ripped as DSDs, but for those of you with FLAC collections from CDs, ALAC collection from iTunes, feel free to give this a try and let us know how you like it in the comments, or via e-mail.
So i tried adding it to my LMS ecosystem. The speaker is a Paradigm PW600. I really wished they had enabled airplay on it.

Right now, the plugin is crashing. I've disabled gapless since i don't think it is supported (from the comments), i've disabled higher frequencies.

Any idea about what could go wrong?

thanks! :)

Trackstat causing 100% cpu usage on Raspberry PI 4

Hello.

I'm using LMS on a Pi 4 with 4GB. When I restart LMS or I reboot my pi, LMS is using 100% cpu. This will take up to 2 hours, before LMS is responsive again. I started disabling some plugins, and found out that trackstat was causing this issue.

Is this a known issue? Is there an option to make it quicker?

Yes, I mentioned this risk before.

FWIW: I've released another update to the Qobuz plugin which should
address this issue by not only verifying the version number, but also
the availability of the necessary calls.

Plexamp bridge plugin ?

$

Hello to all

I both love plex and lms :)
Plex (ios / Android) now have really good radios based on your music in your plex server and can stream it to chromecast, Airplay ... and the quite brand new plexamp (a rpi beta exists : https://forums.plex.tv/t/plexamp-for...e-notes/368282)
As far as i understand, it could allow to stream hi res audio from plex app to plexamp

Anyone find this interesting ? we have beautifull chromecast bridge (limited to 24/96), upnp bridge (unsee by plex apps), airplay bridge (limited to 16/44 i guess)... what about a plexamp bridge to stream hi res files from plex libraries / client ?

i hope my question is not stupid :(

Hi I'm having problems with Miccloud and Souncloud plugins in that I can open and search on them but when I try to play a track it attempts to play it and then immediately stops.

My setup is as follows:

Logitech Media Server Status
Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.3 - 1597753178 @ Sun Aug 23 19:15:28 WEDT 2020
Hostname: Marc-Laptop4

Audio::Scan: 0.95
IO::Socket::SSL: 2.024
Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.58 (sqlite 3.22.0)
Total Players Recognized: 3

I've tried unitsatlling and reinstalling the plugins but the problem persists.

Any advice as to what I need to do to get these working again?

Thanks
