Anyone that is familiar with the excellent Home Automation platform Home Assistant may have heard that there is a new integration in beta version 2022.5. It's called "slimproto" and allows Home Assistant to leverage the SLIM protocol, essentially replacing Logitech Media Server (LMS) as the Server and using Home Assistant instead. I haven't tested it but the early release notes suggest the functionality is basic so far.

Would be interesting to hear if anyone has tried it? Personally speaking, I'm struggling to see the use cases for it (considering the amount of effort gone into LMS by @mherger and many other over the years) but maybe there are users out there who just want basic functionality out of their squeezeboxes and want a simpler server platform to manage their media.
