iPeng and iOS 14

Hi

I have the impression, that some apps (including iPeng) work nbetter under iOS 14 - nice surprise.

Are there any plans of providing a new widget, which can be put on the home screen, with iPeng? Something like a “now playing” would be great.

Announce : BBC Sounds Plugin

I'm a fan of the BBC Sounds App experience of curated and personalised content (and search capability), I've therefore created this experimental plugin that tries to replicate this.
It is not intended to replace the already excellent BBC Iplayer and Extras plugins , but be complementary to them, for those that would like the "Sounds" experience.

It currently provides the overall access to the Search capability, the Daily picks (promoted content), Music Mixes and curated/categorised content. I plan to continue to develop it to provide access to the personalised and subscribed content.

If anyone wants to join me on this experiment and is happy to try out stuff in development, the plugin can be accessed at the following repository, if you add it to your "additional repositories" :

It uses the BBC Iplayer plugin to play the audio, so you will additionally need that plugin installed.

Material Skin / default Player

What is the point of this Setting?

piCorePlayer / default playlist

I have the following environment

3 Raspberry Pi, all of them with piCorePlayer.



The first one runs the LMS. This one also has a display and jivelite and squeezelite is running.

The other two pCP´s are only players. Both of them are players for a BT-Speaker, so i have in summary 5 players

Player one
Player two
Player two BT
Player three
Player three BT

I have build a Group with the Groups Plugin called 1st Floor. This Group has two members, Player one and Player two BT.
Now the following happened.
I give power an the BT-Speaker. The BT-connection with Player two is build. When the connection is established and the Player two BT exists he becomes a member of the Group 1st Floor. On Player one the display is going on and the last playlist is working. In 90% of all cases it is a Radio-Stream.
When i turn of the power of the BT-speaker the Player one is also going off(stop playing and display off).
And now it is not possible to play the last Radio-Station on player one. I turn on the player one, i see the last Radio-Station but when i try to start playing it doesn´t work. I had to choose another Radio-Station or a Track of my musik on the NAS and then back. It is not a Problem but not a goal for the woman acceptance factor:-)

What can i do to play the preferred Radio-Station at every time when i start Player one regardless of how the player is switched on(tap on display, power on on the website)?

Itunes Update

I've recently had to move computers and I can't get itunes update working on the new one.

Basically everything is the same as the old computer in terms of Perl version, file location etc, so it tries to run, but I get this message

c:\itunesupdate>itunesupdate.pl "c:\itunesupdate\itunes_hist.txt"
usage: TrackStatiTunesUpdate.pl <iTunes Update history file> [loop seconds]

I've also tried

c:\itunesupdate>TrackStatiTunesUpdate.pl "c:\itunesupdate\itunes_hist.txt"
usage: TrackStatiTunesUpdate.pl <iTunes Update history file> [loop seconds]

On the off chance that there is still one user of this plugin - does anyone have any idea how to get this going again?

Tidal App not appearing in My Apps, and won't play queued songs.

Hi all.
Just signed up for Tidal and trying to get it connected to LMS.
I've read a few other posts with similar symptoms, to no avail.
TL;DR: Tidal isn't appearing in My Apps, and when I have managed to get to its interface, I can queue songs from Tidal buy they return "Failed to play Stream"
Any suggestions appreciated!



What tried first:
-Plugin is enabled in LMS Settings
-MySqueezebox credentials are in LMS and appear to be working
-Have added Tidal App in MySqueezebox, with valid credentials
-Tidal is not appearing in the expected position on LMS My Apps, or player (Squeezebox Touch or SqueezeCTRL app).
-There were no errors in server.log to this point.
-Restarted LMS, full reboot, Disable/Reenable Tidal on LMS and MySqueezebox

Round Two:
-Having failed using the web player, I tried with the Squeezebox Touch itself: App Gallery ->Tidal ->Uninstall, then App Gallery ->Tidal ->Install
-This asks whether to add a shortcut to Home, to which I said yes then opted when asked to Open Tidal
-At this stage I could browse content and select things to play.
-Tracks selected are visible in the queue, but will not play: "Failed to play stream".
-There are now possibly related errors in log - see at bottom
-Nothing in the Home menu, and no Tidal in My Apps on SBT or Web Interface

What I think it means, and help?
1. First problem is trouble accessing the Tidal plugin interface in the frontends of LMS, SBT or SqueezeCTRL. The plugin clearly works a bit and credentials are valid, as I was able to browse and queue content. This resembles other posts I found.
2. Even once I got to the Tidal app, playback seems to be trying to apply a protocol (wimp:/15519973) as a relative url to my main library path (file:///data__/m_virt/flac_hr/) per the error logs?

Homebridge plugin to control players

Hi

I have forked the plugin at https://github.com/greebowarrior/homebridge-squeezebox (which is not maintained anymore) (at https://github.com/rkrug/homebridge-squeezebox) and have implemented the players as fans, so that I can control the volume by using automations and Siri commands (ok - for louder I have to say faster...).

But as I am not really knowledgable in javascript and home bridge plugin writing, I am looking for others to contribute to this plugin in the form of new features or finding bugs (it sometimes crashes home bridge...).

Any input is welcome.

Qobuz not displaying thumbnail album art in Playlist Queue via PiCorePlayer ......

The Album Art in Qobuz displays properly for the Album that is currently playing, but does not display the album art thumbnails in the Playlist Queue. This is with PiCorePlayer Qobuz Pluggin... The problem can be seen with the LMS Web Control, Squeeze Ctrl and Orange Squeeze. --- I am on PiCorePlayer 6.1 and Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.3 - 1597753178 @ Sun Aug 23 19:27:27 CEST 2020

Announce : Times Radio (UK) 7 Day Catchup Plugin

I've been quite impressed with the new Times Radio national station here in the UK. I've found quite a lot of enjoyable content.
They make all their content available in a 7 day catch-up service. I've therefore created a plugin to access this content as a by-day schedule.

The plugin is available in my beta repository here : http://plugins.expectingtofly.co.uk/betarepo.xml
Add that to your "additional repositories" on your plugins settings to access.

There currently is an issue with Ralphy's web service. I assume it's
temporary.

Maloja Scobbler support with modified audioscrobbler plugin

Hi all

It's been a while since I used lastfm and have of late been using maloja for my scrobbling needs :)

With some recent support from the maloja dev and some testing on my part it seems we can now scrobble to maloja using our squeezeboxes :)


Its not so user friendly more a proof of concept though if anyone is interested :)


The file to edit is here for me on my slimserver docker -> /usr/share/perl5/Slim/Plugin/AudioScrobbler/Plugin.pm

I mount a local copy -> /mnt/user/data/docker/logitechmediaserver/Plugin.pm and make the changes to that local copy.

Then make sure you are running maloja 2.10.1 and do the following;

1) Edit the Plugin.pm to include your maloja instance in the following format -> https://maloja_instance/apis/audioscrobbler_legacy/'

2) Converting your maloja scrobble password to md5 hex (https://cryptii.com/pipes/md5-hash)

3) Copy paste an existing lastfm user in your audioscrobbler.prefs and rename it to maloja

4) Replace password field with converted hex in audioscrobbler.prefs

This should allow you to scrobble to your maloja instance.

Is there a LMS Now Playing App/Channel for Roku?

Just wondering if there is anything out there that would work as a Now Playing for my TV in my exercise room. I have a Squeezebox Receiver and have been using an old Kindle Fire as my Now Playing screen to see the album artwork. If there was anyway to get that on my TV that would be cool. The older MainSqueeze looks to be more of a player which I guess might work. I was thinking more of the Squeeze Display app that I have running on the Kindle.

pCP & iPeng | Volume jumps

Hi,

I´m facing some weird situation lately and don´t know how to solve it.
I´m currently using two PIs in my setup:

i) "Living room":
PI 3B running pCP 5.0 and LMS; connected to an external DAC => volume for this player is set to 100% (fixed) in LMS

ii) "Kitchen"
PI Zero WH running pCP 5.0 with HiFi Berry Dac+ Zero connected via RCA to an active speaker; volume is not set to fixed in LMS

Players (and volume for the Kitchen PI) are controlled via iPeng (iPhone 8 w iOS 14.1).

Problem is that sometimes the volume for the PI Zero jumps (sometimes to 100% or close to 100% or to almost 0).
I have no clue why this happens (and I haven´t changed anything in regards to pCP- or LMS version (I´m on 7.9.2 btw)).
The only thing I changed was the update to iOS 14 and 14.1.

Hence I would appreciate your thoughts here.

Qobuz output on LMS says 96 but my DAC says 44.1

When you play a track, I tell Qobuz to give me information about this
track. This includes information about the bitrate, sampling rate, as
well as where to get the audio data from. I trust that information and
show it in LMS. I don't verify whether the stream actually is using that
sampling rate or not. So what you see in LMS might be wrong, if the
stream indeed comes in another format. But it's what Qobuz says it is.
Or your DAC might be wrong if the stream is what Qobuz says. Or
something happens to the stream in between, eg. LMS does transcode
because the player can't handle the format.

iPlayer skip forward/backwards doesn't work

I'm running iPlayer 1.6.9 on a Raspberry Pi4 running LMS 7.9.2 - 1578996832.

If, listening to say BBC Radio 4 live, I press << it just goes back about 1 second, and >> goes forward about 1 second (I think) .

On listen again, clicking on the progress bar works as expected, but << and >> is similar to the above.

iPlayer Settings:
- DASH->HLS->MP3->FlashAAC
- Use highest bitrate
- Minutes to skip: 1 minute
- allow transcoding: enabled
- show OnAir Text: enabled
- Live text: Bottom line
- Seconds to delay start live stream: 5s
- buffer fullness: 255

I have three wired SB3s.

Any ideas? I don't think this has ever worked in the many years that I have used iPlayer.

Android version of LMS?

I use LMS 7.9.3 on a Windows 7 PC to a Duet via Wifi, to stream Qobuz, and to play files on the PC. Lately the PC has been giving me problems requiring multiple restarts, during which there's no LMS and thus no music after the track then playing ends. I have Squeezer on my Android cell to control. Is there an Android app that can take the place of LMS on my PC so I can continue to stream Qobuz even if my PC is off? (I realize I probably won't be able to stream the files on the PC this way, although maybe I'm wrong). I found SB Player in the Google Play Store but I'm not sure it's the right app. Thanks!
