The playlists disappearing actually was a change on Spotify's end...

Custom Clock and RSS feeds.
I've been trying to configure custom clock to display a news feed.
It appears it won't work with secured (https) rss feeds.
The few feeds that actually work are all plain http.
Problem is, unsecured rss feeds are becoming scarce. All the useful feeds are secured.
Am I right in understanding that only non secured rss feeds work?
Where is the limitation coming from?
Is there any way around it?

Squeezebox-web - a web based player
Hey all,
some of you might be interested that I am working on a web based player

This is very much a work in progress and has limited functionality.
But you can browse albums and play albums via a web page - which is useful to me.
If you want to have a play - the easiest way if probably to run the docker image
Edit LMS_HOST variable to point to your server before you run this - and then visit http://localhost:8080 to see it running.
I'm not sure whether this app would be better done as a skin, if it could be incorporated into Material skin, or if it might be better to build a stronger server side element
One idea would be to provide a server element with strict access control - user personalisation (eg favourites and last played) while limiting access to things like system settings - such that the app might be safe to expose to the internet and accessible for remote use without a VPN.

A really dumb first-time podcast user question
I have never, ever, played a podcast from anywhere. I can see that I can download stuff from the BBC website, but what I thought I should be able to do was see a list of stuff in LMS and select and play from there.
I have the podcast plugin and settings page, but no idea what to put in it for a set of BBC programmes.
I've searched, but everything I've found so far assumes basic knowledge that I simply don't have. Can someone give me a clue?

Yeah, that model is not supported "out of the box". You'll have to
install the legacy helpers. Or get a Raspberry Pi :-).

LSM Spotty Add Account not working
I have been using Spotty successfully for many months on LSM and Synology DSM. Recently I tried to upgrade Spotty and experienced some issues. In investigating these I (foolishly) removed my Spotify account in the LSM page "Settings>Advanced>Spotty Spotify for Squeezebox".
Now when I click 'Add Account' on that page it just seems to do a page refresh without offering the opportunity to add account details.
I currently get the following error message at the top of that page:
There has been a problem running the Spotty helper application. Most likely your operating system and/or platform is not supported. Please report the following details to me:
Operating system: Synology DiskStation / unknown
Helper Applications Folder:
Information is not avaialable. Please update Logitech Media Server to 7.7.6 or more recent.

Is the TrackStat plugin still working with LMS 8.x?
Hello!
I am searching for something that gives me a rating mechanism inside LMS. I have ratings in my mp3 files but the filesystem is mounted readonly in LMS (piCorePlayer installation with a HFS+ SSD).
So I found TrackStat which seems to be exactly what I want because it saves the ratings when a full database scan is done and restores it afterwards.
But I am lost when it comes to installing it. It should be found in LMS plugins when you add Erlands repository, but there is no TrackStat.
So my question is: Does it still work with LMS 8.x?
Is someone using it?

Squeezelite problems playing WMA lossless on Raspberry Pi
I would be grateful for any ideas regarding a problem I have encountered with replay of WMA lossless files on a headless configuration of Squeezelite on a Rasberry Pi.
Firstly the environment.
Squeezelite version 1.8-4.1+b1 , Raspbian - Buster, PI 1 model B in conjunction with Logitech server running on Windows server 2008 holding the media. Replay is currently through the PI onboard headphone socket but I intend to use a DAC later..
Initially Squeezelite plays the media, but then stops after some time. Whilst running it continuously logs "ff_decode:377 avcodec_decode_audio4 error: -22 Invalid argument".
WMA files play successfully on the Pi using VLC. Squeezelite successfully plays mp3 media when tested.
For historical reasons the bulk of my media is in WMA format and I don't fancy a mass conversion, so a solution to this problem would be appreciated.

Unable to downgrade to 7.9.3
I have followed the instructions to downgrade here at how-to/upgrade_lms/
I cannot downgrade to 7.9.3 (I have also tried 7.9.2 and 7.9.4.)
It says it checks for 7.9.3 rl but then downloads v8.0.0 from slimdevices
Running a pi 4 running v6.0.0, have also tried it on piCorePlayer v6.1.0 on a pi3
Not sure what is going on! Any advice would be appreciated

BBC iPlayer Listen Again Lost
Hi, I have lost BBC iPlayer Listen Again channels since sometime after 19.00 UK time yesterday. I am now getting an error message '410 gone'. Live BBC channels are unaffected. Since losing the channels LMS has flaggged up that an update (Version 8.0.0) is available, which I have installed. This has made no difference. I'm using iPlayer version 1.6.9, and I have http://downloads.sourceforge.net/pro...lease-repo.xml installed (at least, it's listed in my plugins at the bottom of the page, and I don't think this has changed since yesterday).

IPeng laggy on volume & song changing over LMS
I am really struggling here with this now as over time Ive got this issue I didnt have previously - its crept in somewhere - maybe a software update too many on old equipment?
* I need the variable volume over the app as my amp is not remote volume.
So:
Changing volume on the iPhone doesnt immediately change the actual volume. Then, a minute later it will jump up/down depending on what I slid the volume to last. It use to work all the time but this happens after a few adjustments. Then I have to refresh cache on the iPeng app. And on it goes.
Selecting a different song/adding to playlist etc as above: becomes unresponsive after a short while until I refresh cache on the iPeng app.
I dont know if its:
The Squeeze Box Touch/software
The NAS/LMS software
Ipeng app
The WiFi router (Sky fibre/on standard tel line / 76mb)
Its got to the point where Im having to consider replacing all my kit as its becoming unusable now. But if its fixable I would prefer to eek it out a bit longer.

NAS: Netgear ready NAS running LMS 7.8.0 Perl version 5.8.8 sparc linux
Squeezelite 3.7.7.1
SQB Touch: v7.8.0 (I think!)

Softsqueeze - scrolling display problem
I think there were a few bug reports that if you accidentally held down on a button press on the soft remote, you'd get persistent text scrolling on the display from the last station you were listening to.
Closing and restarting doesn't help.
Neither does uninstalling and reinstalling nor changing skins.
I've also tried switching to the Java MP3 plugin in case resources were getting low.
Is it game over?

[Announce] SoccerScores Plugin for SuperDateTime
This plugin adds Soccer Scores to the SuperDateTime screensaver plugin. SuperDateTime is required to use this plugin. This initial release is an early beta that only provides support for the MLS League. Depending on interest I may add additional soccer leagues in the future.
Known Issues
The initial beta release does not have team selection connected. However, at least 1 team or "All" must be selected on the settings page for scores to be available. Once any team is selected all games will be available for display through SDT and Custom Clock. Team logos are also inconsistent in Custom Clock on the initial beta release. Since the MLS season is nearly over I elected to go ahead and release now at beta.

Spotify only plays first six minutes of a track then skips to next track in album
As thread title. Ever since I've been using Spotty on my SBT, if an album track is longer than about six minutes, it only plays the first six minutes or so, then skips to the next track.
It doesn't happen every time, but it only ever skips on longer tracks, never anything under 6 minutes. I didn't use Spotify much before, but now with LMS 8, and the excellent Spotify integration, I'd like to use it a lot more if it wasn't for this issue.
Any ideas?

Until the end of october I did not have problems (using lms version 8.0) The beginning of november I updated lms. After this I could, play everything except high definition audio from qobuz. (using allo digione with spdf/BNC connection.) Only noise!!
Playing Qobuz using usb connection no problem. Playing high def audio from my nas no problem(using allo digione with spdf/BNC )
Using lms version 7.9.4 or 7.9.3 or 8.0 before november no problems.
So, after update lms 8.0 in november the problem started only with using Qobuz high def audio in combination with picore player with allo digione.(or hifiberry digipro)
Nas music no problem.
After this I tried squeezelite player with allo digione from max2play. No probleem at all!!.
Other players (transporter/squeezebox) no problems
I only have problems using Qobuz high definition audio in combination with lms 8.0 after november update, in combination .with picore player with allo digione (or with hifiberry digi pro) with spdf/BNC out.
Now I use lms version 7.9.4 and I have no problems at all.
What can I do to use the latest lms version (8.0/8.1) without problems with qobuz high definition audio and picore player with allo digione?

Spotty - rate limit?
Hi all
I've started getting this on my server Advanced page, and Spotty fails to get an access token.
Access Rate limit exceeded for: browse/categories?country=GB&limit=50&locale=en_US; retry after nn seconds
I have tried with a developer client ID but still no luck. It's worked fine for months.
Can anyone suggest troubleshooting steps?
